My Voice Experience

May I please have your attention? In fact, that's how I began my last radio spot. Why? Because I have also worked in the field of education for many years and they thought I'd be good at reiiterating a phrase I have said probably l0 times a day for the past l0 years to children form 8 to l4!
Prior to my years in education, which in an d of itself is a daily forum of public speaking, I worked in radio for approximately l2 years. Much of that time was behind the scenes doing production and voicing commercials and promos - okay that was 22 years ago - those tapes no longer exist. However, my "talking" has never stopped and now I'm back working part-time in radio and again doing some voice overs and commercial work.

My Training

I learned to do voice overs "on-the-job". I was plucked off a college campus many moons ago and accepted a full-time position in radio. No, I was not on the air, but I did production, continuity, traffic, etc. and learned through the "school of hard knocks" how to handle copywriting, production and occasional voice over work.
In recent years, working in education, I have done much public speaking and had to show grace under fire with a calm mature voice dealing with many issues.

Additional Skills

I have worked in radio, raisesd a family, worked in education and still am. In addition, I've had fun having had the opportunity to work back in radio on a part-time basis and finally also complete my college education at the same time my children are! So why now get involved in voicing spots again? Because it's fun! I am not looking to conquer the world, I'm looking to do the best job I can for a client or for whomever I am working for or with, that is the most satisfying feeling that I know besides raising a family and I've been there and done that!
