Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I can sound like an all-American surfer girl from California, a nature lover from Colorado or a sweet thing from Texas - all places where I've lived. I can also do a bit of an English accent.

My Voice Experience

I began doing voiceovers for radio in Denver, Colorado and that carried me into doing some selectively national work for a laundry detergent. I also narrated a film about domestic violence, "Beyond the Shelter Door" which won an Emmy Award. I also voiced "Avalance Awareness" which trained many emergency crews how to rescue people in the out-of-bounds back slopes where avalanches are numerous. It also showed many people how to ski smart and not fall victim to an avalanche. I also voiced promos for public television in Denver, Colorado.

My Training

I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in English Education. I studied voice by doing commercials for radio and TV as well as being a broadcast reporter/anchor. I've also learned how to do voiceovers by reporting nationally for Free Speech Radio News.

My Studio Equipment

I have a broadcast quality headset/microphone, several computers, a minidisc recorder and soon I hope to have Cool Edit Pro software and equipment to produce material that I've recorded in studio or in the field.

Additional Skills

I'm a quick study. I can even pick up a script and voice it flawlessly with little or no practice. I'm also a writer/editor so if there are flaws in the copy I can correct them quickly. In my day career I write about scientists so I'm accustomed to meeting high standards.
