I did a lot of voice work for EMC/Digital Excellence (Minnesota) in the 1980s-1990s:
played a Fiancee in a ghost story radio play.
Read poems & short stories for Education publishers/7-9 grade
Played Juliet in the balcony scene of Romeo & Juliet
For the School of the Air/KUOM radio at the University of Minnesota (1980s),I was the female voice talent for Mystery Class for Credit. I read narration for Daphne Du Maurier's "Rebecca," and lots of other stuff.
I was the angry divorced wife over the phone in a student film at Minneapolis Community & Technical College (2005)
Active Toastmaster for 6 years(Current)
AA in Screenwriting/Minneapolis Community & Technical College
BA in Theater Arts/University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
Yoga Teacher (Current) RYT-200
I am not a recording specialist. My husband is and has edited and cleaned up many chinese music recordings for CAAM Chinese Dance Theater. He worked as a radio producer and announcer for 7 years at KUOM Radio at the University of Minnesota. Now it is called Radio K.
We have many apple computers with many different sound editing programs. Some clean up old recordings.
Microphones:
Meteor Mic (Zoom)
HI Handy Recorder digital cordless (Samson)
Studio quality condenser mic, but haven't used for awhile
I have larger pitch variety than most, because I took voice lessons for 3 years during college. I have clear enunciation without sounding excruciatingly precise.
I studied French/Italian/German. German is the easiest to sing in because the vowels keep you on pitch.
I work as a library clerk & give a lot of instructions that non-english speakers can understand, because they ask me questions afterwards. I also am a survey interviewer and can interpret social science language very well.
I am the preferred interviewer on sensitive studies (substance abuse) or going out in the field to interview Seniors. I can vary my pitch, my cadence, my style of delivery, so that they can understand me.
