Characters: This is best described by a sampling of roles I have played on stage: Annie in "The Real Thing" by Stoppard (British-highclass romantic), Mona in "Come Back to the Five and Dime..." (Southern-tortured wacky), Frumasera in "Fiddler..." (Russian Jewish-old world soothsayer), Mama Wheelis in "Daddy's Dyin'..." (Southern-Crotchety Grandma), Mina in "Dracula" (British-ingenue victim), M'Lynn in "Steel Magnolias" (Southern-grieving Mom). More important than the geographic origin of a character, I can capture the emotion, the motivation, the backstory, and the empathy a character should exude.

My Voice Experience

Even though I began the entrance into the voiceover industry in 1998, I have recently jump-started my career again. My past professional experience includes voiceovers in training videos, website narration, audiobooks, and animation.

My Training

I have studied with Nancy Wolfson (commercials), Laurel van der Linde (commercials, audiobooks), Michael D. Cohen (animation and acting), and Eliza Jane Schneider (accents). I have a Master of Arts degree in Education, with an emphasis in Counseling. This has provided me with the empathy and understanding of human psychology to tweak that extra edge of understanding of a character when performing, both on stage and in the recording booth. My undergraduate studies includes a minor in Theatre Arts.

Additional Skills

In addition to my extensive performance experience, I have been an elementary teacher, middle school assistant principal, elementary school principal and district office administrator. I am a transplanted American and the great-granddaughter of native British citizens. I am native to Canada. I am the mother of three. Besides my penchant for stopping at any Staples store I pass and gathering all manner of post-it notes for purposes unknown to me, I'm a pretty normal person. I have the talent, drive, versatility, humor and stamina that will positively contribute to any successful voiceover project.
