I first sat down in front of a microphone when I was 29 and I was instantly hooked. Two months later I was hired out of junior college for my first paying radio job, at Lite Rock 97.5 WHMS/Newstalk 1400 WDWS in Champaign IL. I worked part-time in radio all through college, both at Lite Rock/Newstalk and at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's student run radio station WIDB.net, and finished my degree on December of 2010. While in school I did several radio plays and often played the sweet girl in projects for my friends . My voice is currently about to appear as background ambience in an NPR documentary that will be narrated by Alec Baldwin, titled Tragedy of Bataan. Today I work for WCIL FM in Carbondale Illinois as a weekend radio personality. My voice is very young but I can also age myself up and sound smooth and polished for business presentations.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Radio/Television from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I also have three years of on-air experience in commercial radio.
My main studio has an AKG 414 microphone with pop screen and Pro Tools 8. I also have access to a range of preamps and other mics (MA-200, RE 20, KSM-44, TLM 102) as well if the need arises.
I received classical voice training from the time I as ten years old until three years ago. I participated in community theater and school plays my entire young adult life. I love reading everything from classics to teen books. I play roller derby for the So Ill Roller Girls, and I'm really good at claw machine games.
