Has anyone ever called you a witch? GOOD. Witches are bad ass bitches, and if you think about it... the ultimate feminists. Witches and their supernatural symbols are popping up all over the music scene. And here’s why:
Historically, women were accused of witchcraft when they didn’t follow rules. If you didn’t go to church: WITCH. If you had darker skin: WITCH. If you talked about sex openly: DOUBLE WITCH. Basically, if you were crazy enough to be a strong independent woman in history, there's a good chance someone thought you had magical powers. [...]
Witches or not, these artists are making an important statement: We are powerful. We are women. And we are NOT stepping down. So if you like their songs and their symbols, you might be a feminist. Or a witch. Or maybe just a bad ass bitch.
