What should we do for those who are dying ZD854929
This video is intended to serve as a discussion starter on issues related to end of life care. It is not a "position piece" but rather seeks to raise issues and begin discussion. The voice should be of a mature woman beyond middle age but must also be strong and clear. The tone is friendly, but not overly warm as this is aimed at discussion, not sentiment.

Few of us are comfortable talking about end-of-life care. But decisions that may seem personal actually have a public dimension. Should physicians be allowed to help terminally ill patients end their lives? Should public funds be unlimited when it comes to preserving life? Who decides? There are no easy answers.
We’ll start with three options. Each was derived from concerns expressed by citizens throughout the country, and each is based on something we all hold dear—freedom, compassion, moral obligation. Option One focuses on maintaining quality of life. Option Two supports preserving life at all costs. Option Three says people should have the right to control how and when they die. Each option includes public actions we could take, but also includes drawbacks and trade-offs of those actions.
