Project Main Details

Virtual Reality Game
We are looking for a voice actor to bring the protagonist of our game Arizona Sunshine to life. Arizona Sunshine is a Virtual Reality zombie shooter for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

The protagonist is a middle-aged American. He used to be your average kind of guy. Average job. Average looks. But then the world changed drastically. A mysterious infection spread, turning most of humanity into mindless, bloodthirsty, creatures.
The game starts a few months after the first infection. The protagonist has not had any human contact since then. He used to be quite upbeat, but has since adopted a positively cranky attitude towards the world. He will not admit it, but he misses contact with humans, and he hates the ever shining sun of Arizona. We are looking for someone who can discreetly voice the humor in a world that has gone to hell.
The protagonist does not talk much, since there is no one to talk to except himself and the zombies. He usually comments shortly on his surroundings or what he wants to do.
In the script you can find the type of conversation that will happen throughout the game.

Script Details

**** The first thing you hear is a bear trap snapping shut.
**** Moments later you hear a body hitting the ground, and then another trap snapping shut.
**** Suddenly a Zombie head comes bouncing around the corner, ending at your feet.
**** Comment on zombie head “and let me grab my gun”. (explain next step in comment)

[protagonist] Whoa!
[protagonist] Hello there, ugly.

**** You need to pick up your gun and shoot the zombie in the head.
[protagonist] -sigh- All right, let me do the nice thing here. Put you out of your misery. Now where is my gun?
**** Comment about going outside. Player is prompted to use movement mechanic.

[protagonist] Damn sun, can’t you move? Ugh. I have to get going.

**** Player has to move to the next area outside the cave. You see the zombie that just lost his leg and head. It’s trapped in one of the bear traps.
**** Comment op trapped/zombie as soon as the player looks at it.

[protagonist] Got you good, didn’t it? Poor thing. You just wanted to stretch your legs, heh. Well, you have only got yourself to blame. Already wanting to stand on your own legs, but no good can come of that. Your mother must be proud. Nah, I’m pulling your leg here. I’m gonna get going now. Break a leg, ugly.

**** On the table there is an ammo belt and some ammo clips. Player needs to put on ammo belt.

[protagonist] Oh, that’s some fancy stuff. Thanks, dead people.

**** Comment on putting on ammo belt.

[protagonist] Hmm… I hope this fits. I’m on a strict diet these days, you know. Lots of walking and canned food. Works like a charm.

**** Player needs to learn about reloading. He needs to get in some target practice.
Training session commencing.
**** Comment on “static” stuff to hit.

[protagonist] Bye bye, boxes.
[protagonist] I’m the best!

**** Gun is empty player needs to reload
**** Comment on empty gun, player is prompted to move the gun into the ammo belt.

[protagonist] Damn, it’s empty already.

**** Some zombies come
**** Comment on “dynamic” targets.

[protagonist] Ah, there you guys are. This belt yours, is it? Well, sorry, but I think I’m keeping it.
[protagonist] No, you can’t have it back.
[protagonist] Have you lost your minds? Get off me!

Player needs to kill zombies. Comment on dead zombies.

[protagonist] -sigh- Are you happy now? Didn’t have to go down like this, you know.

**** Comment on continuing journey.

[protagonist] Well, let’s follow the river then.
