Project Main Details
It should be read in a documentary style, that you see on the History channel.
The last paragraph should be more upbeat - not so much about the war but what PMP training will do for the vet and a brighter future 2016-10-10 15:54:56 GMT 2016-10-14 10:00:00 (GMT -06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 5 5 13 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 3 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. During that period 58,226 US Soldiers died in that conflict.
Darrell G. Stiffler served in Cu Chi, Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Davison, from December 1967 to December 7, 1968. That was a very good time NOT to be in “The Nam”. During that period there were 16,899 Soldiers deaths. That’s about 30% of the total casualties for the war. Darrell remembers very vividly three days during the Tet Offensive, when Cu Chi Base Camp took over 200 rounds for 3 days in a row consisting of 122 rockets and 82 mm mortar. On or about December 5, 1968 Darrell was honored by his CO with the award of the Bronze Star for Service and the Good Conduct Medal. December 7, 1968 Darrell returned home.
Darrell was married and with only 2 years of college, that he had failed at, no real job skills. There wasn’t much need for a person with only the skills were how to use C4 and fire a M16. At that time his country, that he had sacrificed so much for, did not welcome him home. At that time there were not any transition assistance. Darrell remember sitting in interview and watching the facial expression of the interviewer change when he answered the question if he had serviced was asked. The rumors of Nam Vets all had PTSD and were ticking time bombs. This rumor was sensationalized by Hollywood. Darrell eventually overcame the obstacles and has done well in his life. Darrell’s life dramatically changed in 1999 when he decided to dedicate himself to the efforts of becoming a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) as designated by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Since 2007 Darrell has been an Instructor for various national training companies. Recently Darrell has started his own “Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB)” as a training company. Darrell’s goal is to help recently discharged Military Veterans in Project Management skills.
Beware this profession is not for everybody. The examination to be certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associated in Project Management (CAPM) is very challenging. However, once the Veteran has achieved one of these certifications there is a great future. Darrell wants to give our Military Veterans an opportunity to have a fruitful productive life.
