UMass Lowell Powering Up the ZD1265867
This is a video for the Chancellor of our university to present to the Board of Trustees. It's not a sales pitch, don't need anything too dramatic. Looking for an optimistic and proud voiceover narration. The goal of this project is to develop a 2-4 minute video that tells the story of UMass Lowell's contributions to workforce development for Massachusetts. Supporting players will be our co-op programs, corporate partnerships and research enterprise. We would like to demonstrate how benefitting students with these opportunities is creating a prepared, adaptable workforce that will fuel economic growth in the commonwealth for years to come.

UMass Lowell cultivates start up companies, conducts groundbreaking research and trains highly skilled workers. This is the fuel needed to power the Massachusetts economy.
To build the workforce the Commonwealth needs, UMass Lowell has formed stronger partnerships with companies to expand co-op and internship programs. One of the newest and most successful partnerships is with Kronos Incorporated. The software company recruits students on campus, hires interns and established a co-op program specifically designed for the university.
Within ten years, the Department of Higher Education projects a shortfall of college educated workers. An additional 65,000 more public college graduates are needed to support the Massachusetts economy. UMass Lowell is helping to fill this gap by giving students real-world experiences in emerging research. These areas include nanotechnology, advanced materials and robotics. At the Raytheon UMass Lowell Research Institute in the Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center, researchers are inventing new forms of printed electronics.
