Project Main Details

Theory of Relativity Voiceover for Marching Band
This voiceover will be used by a high school band in their competition show which is based on the Theory of Relativity and features music by Gustav Holst and Pink Floyd. These students work hard on their music all fall and we strive to present a professional product in every area of the production. From music, to props, to electronics including voiceovers.

Voiceovers should be read in the tone of a narrator for a science documentary. Not bland, or over-the-top, but authentically amazed by time and space and attempting to share that amazement with the audience. Like a good teacher.

Script Details

Script should be read with a slight pause between each line for editing:

We tend to think of time and space as absolute...

...but they are not.

They are not conditions in which we live...

...but modes by which we think.

Time and Space are relative.

Relativity treats time and space as though they are connected.

Interwoven in the space-time (pause) continuum.

Your frame of reference can make it seem as though time speeds up.

As we approach the gravity-well, time slows down.

The gravity-well is caused by curvature of space-time. And, at it's center, the singularity.

The closer you get, the slower you will go as you approach the singularity (pause) forever.

The singularity is one of nature's most mysterious phenomena. It lies at the center of a black hole.

And once we cross the event horizon, (pause) there is no coming back.

Black holes challenge everything we know about space and time.

It is here, within the black hole's mysterious confines, that our space-time odyssey ends.

(The following are all options for ending the production. Could you please record each of them? As the production wraps up, we will choose the one that is most appropriate:)

But, every ending is a new beginning. After all, space and time are relative.

But, nothing every really ends; Space and time are relative.

Of course we can't say for sure where or when anything really ends. Space and time are relative.
