Project Main Details

Scotts Company Ortho Regulation Videos
The Ortho brand of the Scotts Garden company is producing four safety videos. One video for their granular and liquid, herbicides and pesticides. The videos will be animated to visually demonstrate proper use. Since the instructions are rather dry, we'd like to play-up the flight attendant personality that can be cheeky about serious potential risks. Southern charm would be nice in moderation. :)

Script Details

At Ortho, we’re committed to ensuring all of our products are applied in a responsible way.
So follow these guidelines when using any liquid insecticide product to help keep it in your lawn and out of waterways.
First, and most importantly, always read and follow the directions on the label.
Never allow a pesticide to run into a storm drain, drainage ditch, gutters or any surface water.
Never apply products outdoors while it is raining or if rain is predicted within 24 hours.
Also, never apply products outdoors in high winds.
Do not apply products to or allow products to drift onto blooming plants if bees are visiting the treatment area.
And do not apply within 25 feet of rivers, fish ponds, lakes, streams, reservoirs, marshes, estuaries, bays, and oceans.
Remember to only treat areas around buildings and structures...
...and only treat the bottom 3 feet of building foundations.
To prevent unwanted runoff, limit treatments to hard surfaces—like sidewalks and driveways, patios, windows and doors—to spot or crack and crevice applications.
Finally, rinse the applicator only over the treated area.
Reapplication is necessary only if there are signs of renewed insect activity.
Be sure to follow these guidelines to help keep your yard looking beautiful and insecticides where they belong.
