Project Main Details

Ozone Project
The Documentary Group, an Academy Award-nominated production company based in NYC, is looking for a narrator for an animated documentary short with the potential to become a series.

"Ozone" (Working Title) is a ten minute animated documentary examining the issue of the ozone layer depletion, tracing its history from the first discovery of the ozone layer through the global effort to curtail the chemicals causing the ozone hole above Antarctica.

We are looking for a voice who can deliver the narration somewhat straight but that will make room for comedy within the animation.

Script Details

Long before humans ever imagined chemistry as a formal science, we were curious about the sky.

Investigation of the atmosphere goes back thousands of years.

Thunderstorms fascinated Homer in ancient Greece. In the Odyssey, he wrote about their sharp odor, “The storm thundered and lightened, and the air was filled with sulfur.”

The poet did not know it, but Homer was describing ozone.

Ozone is a gas that is naturally present in earth’s atmosphere. Close to the ground, it’s actually toxic. But lucky for plants and people and other living things, 90% of earth’s ozone is at a high altitude in the sky, where it serves as earth’s sunscreen, protecting us from harmful UV radiation that comes from the sun.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
