It all began with the leading of the Holy Spirit. Empowered decisions were made and proved to be sustenance in a time of economic crisis.
(Graphic: Marcelly’s Dream)
The dream of one little girl called us to action. Marcelly’s Dream was a message from God to take the gospel to the children of Africa and the life-giving Word, Water, Walls and Wellness became the means of fulfilling that dream. (Graphic Bug: Word) Age-appropriate Bibles worth over $200,000 were given to orphans and children around the world. (Graphics :Italy, USA Indian Ministries, India, Haiti, Liberia, and also several stateside youth camps.) (Graphic Bug: Water) We dug countless wells of clean water, and provided water purification to many who did not have access to this vital resource. (Graphics: Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Liberia, and Ecuador.) (Graphic Bug: Walls) Nearly half a million dollars has built, repaired, and maintained living spaces, churches, schools, and orphanages. And almost $420,000 has contributed to walls in countries all over the globe. (Graphic Bug: Wellness) Your gifts enabled the use of nearly a quarter of a million dollars to provide wellness to children, their caretakers, and missionaries through medical supplies and services, counseling services and respite care.(Graphic: Marcelly’s Dream) Through the life-giving Word, Water, Walls, and Wellness a total of over 2 million dollars has now been given to see the Gospel delivered and the dream of one little girl realized.
(Graphic: Realignment of World Missions)
Surrounded by uncertainty and financial cutbacks, two of the five field areas came under the direction of World Missions leadership resulting in reduced cost while sustaining ministry efforts.
(Graphic: Africa) The inception of the Africa Firewall Project soon followed. This deliberate strategy to plant churches where radical religious beliefs were quickly advancing, was spearheaded by Men and Women of Action and the churches in Africa. Through these efforts we saw the planting of over 1,200 new churches throughout the region. (Graphic: Asia Pacific) We celebrated the first church built in Cambodia, a powerful Philippine National Assembly and the Dedication of the second phase of Build-a-City spearheaded by our partnership with People for Care and Learning.(Graphic: Caribbean) In the Caribbean we rejoiced with the Reconstruction of the Churches of God in Haiti devastated by the earthquake of 2010 and Caribbean churches destroyed by hurricanes. (Graphic: Europe, CIS and the Middle East) In Europe, CIS and the Middle East we experienced an increased focus to FINISH the Great Commission as leaders from Russia, Germany, England, Kuwait and more, gathered to commit to the Great Commission task at the European FINISH challenge Leadership Conference. (Graphic: Latin American) Through the Vision 20/20, Latin American churches experienced the power of a personal Savior. Their excitement in reaching others is freeing women from stereotypes and physical abuse. Children’s ministries abound and church planting is on a course to surpass their projected goals. (Graphic: Goal of 10,000 new church plants by the year 2020)
(Graphic: Global Church Plant Initiative)
We saw the launch of the Global Church Plant Initiative. Through the A C T S model, Church of God Church Planting is growing at a pace of 12 churches per day, that's 1 every 2 hours. (Graphics: 4,255 church plants outside the US and Canada)
(FINISH INTRO: B-roll)
Recent years have been seasons of catalytic change, both for the world, and for global harvest. Yet, a dynamic presence of the Holy Spirit opened a new dimension of relevant ministry for the future and the next phase of ministry became clear… we must FINISH THE TASK that Jesus set out for us to do.
(Graphic: The FINISH Challenge)
And so The FINISH Challenge was born. An initiative to inspire the Church of God to answer the call of the Great Commission. A call to…FIND and search out Unreached People Groups and win them to Christ.(Graphics: 72 groups, anticipating engaging with 250 UPGs by 2020) To INTERCEDE with prayer for the harvest and participate the global prayer initiative. (Graphis: A commitment to 1 million hours of intercession each year until 2020.) To NURTURE the missions calling and connect believers as missionaries, faith partners, local missions representatives, caregivers, intercessors, and encouragers. (Graphics: Connect 250,000 believers with the Great Commission by 2020) To INVEST by using our resources to develop new partners and plant new churches. (Graphics: Goal of 10,000 new congregations by 2020) And finally, to SEND servant leaders, caregivers, and missionaries into the ripened harvest that awaits. (Graphics: Maximizing the workforce on the field.) This enhanced focused on finishing the task of the Great Commission lead World Mission to a clear directive… take the gospel back to where it all began the land of Israel.
(Graphics: Israel Initiative)
The Israel Initiative brought forth a dynamic response from Church of God donors and ministry leaders. (Graphic: Children) The school in Aboud, founded by Margret Gains, received funds to sustain teachers’ salaries and maintain the facilities. (Graphic: Care) Backpacks were filled with school supplies. (Graphic: Construction) The current facilities at the Mount of Olives Center were renovated, new properties were acquired for education and worship and opportunities will be provided for students from Church of God universities to attend. (Graphic: Communication) A partnership with DAYSTAR Television has been implemented to enhance Christian influence. (Graphic: Connections) And the longtime ministry investment in Israel is flourishing because of the attention given through Heart for the Homeland YWEA project, $1,274,890 was given causing an increase in visits to sites where Church of God ministries are located.
(Graphics: The Year of The Missionary)
The Year of the Missionary began as an outreach of Marcelly’s Dream. Through monetary gifts, fundraising efforts and enhanced emotional and healthcare support, our Career Missionaries felt empowered and revitalized like never before. 2014-2015 proved to truly be The Year of the Missionary.
(Graphics: Crisis Relief)
This season was marked by phenomenal anointing and leading of God’s Holy Spirit. However, in the midst of great triumph, tragedy began striking at every turn. Earthquakes, flooding and terrorists attacks. The Syrian refugee situation touched many Churches of God in Europe and they started the process of ministering to the fleeing masses. It is a time of great fear, but also one of great opportunity for the Christian believers. Crisis Relief is ongoing. Assistance is required with every disaster and it is the heartbeat of World Missions to provide whatever is necessary to alleviate the hardship. So far this year, a total of $78,817.93 has been given to assist the suffering of those affected by disaster and crisis.
Our destination is to complete the Great Commission and more achievement is yet to be realized. We will forge ahead with gratitude to those who have joined hands with us in the culmination of the Great Commission. We pray that the Spirit of God goes out before us to touch the lives of people in the far corners of the globe as He seeks to pour out His love on the hurting and save the lost.
