Project Main Details

Keiko Everlasting Visual Novel
Note: The TOTAL time it takes to read the entire script is 180 minutes. Since there are 25 characters, you will be recording for a short amount of time. If you can do multiple voices I will expect a discount since you will be recording for more time. The budget is the TOTAL budget for the entire project.

This project is a visual novel that I have written and intend to sell on Steam, which is an extremely popular application for buying games and playing them with friends. I need someone who can do any number of the voices I've listed and will choose the actor/actress based on low cost, audio quality, and suitability for the character. I have 25 characters that need some form of voice acting -- some a lot, some not as much. The novel is 35,000 words, however I estimate that only 30,000 of that is dialogue. This is not something where the audio has to be perfectly timed with an animation, so it will be easy and for that reason I won't pay as much as would a company looking for someone to act in an anime or something. In case you aren't familiar with visual novels, it is a game that you click through and read the text the text that scrolls along the bottom of. There are backgrounds, characters, music tracks, and the higher quality ones have voice actors. It isn't necessary, though, so if this seems to be too expensive of a job I'll forego it. I'm fresh out of college and, as one would expect, not looking to spend too much money, although I am obviously willing to take some risk in hopes to make a profit selling the game. I look forward to working with you.

Script Details

Male Child 1:
Four… Three… Two… One… READY OR NOT, HERE I COME!!

Male Child 2:
Ha, you flinched.

Male Child 3:
Ok. You have to admit, though, this was a good hiding spot wasn’t it? You took almost 10 minutes to find us!

Male Child 4:
Wow, Noriyuki, you’re so brave.

Female Child:
Haha, gotcha! You were so scared, Shino!

Middle-aged woman 1:
Come and get it, kids! We’re having ramen tonight.

Middle-aged man 1:
Hey kids, how are you? Spent the day outside I can see -- you guys are pretty sweaty. That’s good. What’s for dinner tonight?

Buff male teenager 1:
(YAWN) Man, my lecture was sooo boring.

Buff male teenager 2:
All lectures are boring.

Buff male teenager 3:
No, all lectures are boring for *you* guys, because you don’t pay attention and are always playing games on your computer.

Male Child 4 grown up (teenager):
I think it’s curry rice.

Female teenager 1:
How was your game yesterday?

Male Child 2 grown up (teenager):
Oh, well, it was ok. It was fun, at least.

Male Child 1 grown up (teenager):
Noriyuki, don’t get ahead of yourself. She probably does like you but she just wants to hang out.

Male Child 3 grown up (teenager):
No, the number on the periodic table is how many protons the element has. Carbon normally has 6 neutrons.

Female Child grown up (teenager):
I thought you just said an isotope has a different amount of neutrons?

Middle-aged woman 2:
I know the computer’s fun, but haven’t you been going outside or something?

Middle-aged man 2:
No, no! Don’t worry, I’ll carry it. You guys just go on ahead.

Male Teenager 8:
Whatever. Oh yeah, and Hana has been doing the art for me. She drew all these textures, like the leaves, grass, etc.

Female teenager 3:
Hey, you guys want to start working on dinner? I’m starving.

Senior female:
Never been better. I’m so happy for my Keiko ever since she started spending time with that Keitaro boy.

Female teenager 4:
Ok, who are the team captains? Hana, you want to be one?

Female teenager 5:
You should read! Everyone should. I love reading; it takes you into a whole new world.

Male teenager 9:
Not like video games can. Can it take you into the world of no-scoping weakass noobs from across the map?

Male teenager 10:
Yeah, she left me a note in my locker. I can’t say I’m surprised, haha. She’s been eyeballing me for the past few weeks.
