How to Read Your Score Report Training Videos
This project is a 3 part video series that explains the ACT test score report and how to read the results. It will be posted on the ACT website and likely posted to the ACT YouTube channel, etc.

Video 1 is approx 5.5mins
Video 2 approx 2 mins,
Video 3 approx 3 mins in length.

The VO will be accompanied by motion graphics illustrating what is being described on-screen.

We are looking for a female, high-school sounding age. We need the tone to come across as helpful and experienced – someone who has taken the ACT test, and is offering advice to her peers. We are looking for a sensible-sounding, friendly, approachable, upbeat, relatable, knowledgeable and fun.

The Audition Short Script is a little lengthy, but we need to hear how the VO talent will handle the more personable and relatable portions of the larger scripts.

ACT should be pronounced as letters (Aye See Tee) rather than 'act'.

Script Details

We all have big dreams for what we want to do with our lives. Taking the ACT is an important step in that journey. But how do you know what it all means and what happens next? You studied hard in high school and took the test. Then you get your score report and it’s a little … comprehensive. That’s actually a good thing. Here’s why. Literally every college and university in the United States accepts the ACT. In fact it’s taken by more students like you and me than any other college entrance exam. The ACT information is clearly helpful to colleges. But how is someone like you or me supposed to make sense of everything on the report?

OK, you see that big box at the top that says ‘Composite Score’? Well, that’s your … composite score! It’s the average of your scores on the four subject area tests (Writing is not included in the Composite), rounded to the nearest whole number.

Speaking of results, let’s dig a little deeper. The Test Results section shows more info on your scores on each of the subject area tests and your associated subscores. (Yeah, stay with me! We will get to the whole subscore thing in a second.)

Subject area scores are shown graphically on the 1-36 scale. You might be thinking “36? But the test didn’t have just 36 questions, and actually, the different tests had different numbers of questions. What’s up with that?” Great point! Clearly the 1-36 scale is NOT the number of questions you answered correctly. It’s based on how many you got correct, but is not the actual number of questions you got correct.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
