Project Main Details

Our project calls for dramatic readings of 8-10 documents from the late 18th and early 19th century that are significant in the history of NY and the US. These will be incorporated into an iPhone/iPad/Android app, not podcasts.

Some are letters, others are declarations, like the example below; others are speeches, broadsides, etc. I anticipate hiring three male voices to read 6-8 of them, using a different tone/character for each document; and one female voice to be two different women and read two different documents.

I'm submitting this example and one for the female voices. I'd like to be able to hire all three male voices based on this audition. One of the documents requires pronunciation of some tricky Indian tribe names - we'll have the proper way to say those names in time for the recording.

We'll be recording at a studio in New York City, preferably no later than mid July.

Script Details

see below.
We whose names are hereunto subscribed, Inhabitants of the City and Country of New-York, beg leave to inform your Excellencies: that although most of us have subscribed a general representation with many others of the Inhabitants; yet we wish that our conduct, in maintaining inviolate our loyalty to our sovereign, against the strong tide of oppression and tyranny, which had almost overwhelmed this Land, may be marked by some line of distinction, which cannot well be drawn from the mode of Representation that has been adopted for the Inhabitants in general.
Influenced by this Principle, and from a regard to our peculiar Situation, we have humbly presumed to trouble your Excellencies with the second application; in which, we flatter ourselves, none participate but those who have ever, with unshaken fidelity, borne true Allegiance to His Majesty, and the most warm and affectionate attachment to his Person and Government.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
