Script Details

My father was an archaeologist who spent years looking in the mountains here for ruins of the Romans, of Arpad, and Attila. For years I wanted to be like him, but he didn’t want me to follow in his footsteps. So I went into music.

Rock ‘n’ roll grabbed me.

He was a monolith—man of great strength. You know how great he was because people are still debating his role and character 1800 years later.

The tomb of Attila must be somewhere here in the Pilis (pronounced: Pilish) mountains next to king Arpad. It’s unlikely he was taken away but it’s still finding a needle in a haystack.

It would be great if we went up there now and I’ll show you.

There’s a passage in the Gesta Hungarorum that says Arpad was buried near a well by a creek.

The descriptions match up perfectly. I wouldn’t be doing all this if I thought I was digging in the wrong place. But we just haven’t found it yet.

The animal sacrifice isn’t unusual. But this is an unusual place for it.

Absolutely. That’s why we’re here!

Yes. And the fact that this entire mine was buried, perhaps intentionally hidden, suggests that the site is more important than just as a source of construction material. It took great effort to cover over the site. There must be a reason.

Without a doubt. So far, this site has closely matched our archival evidence. Arpad or Attila may be right here, just under our feet.
