Brian Wolfe [BRIE-ən WohLF]
Dialogue. Detective meets Gwendolen for the first time. Gwendolen says that she will kill Detective if the investigation continues. She hisses, now she’s some kind of a vampire.
Gwendolen (aggressive, sharp, unstable): You can't stop us!
The man I love betrayed me and locked me up here. If you try to interfere, I'll eat you!
Player finds a way to Gwendolen's dream and hears her cry for help.
Gwendolen (we feel a beg for help in her voice): Help!
Dialogue. Player dispells Gwendolen's nightmare. She is full of hope on finding her true love. Player still has to stop Fiona. Gwen’s voice is normal human voice of a 19 y.o. girl now.
Gwendolen (glad, happy): Thank you! Now I can find my beloved Robin!
[in more serious tone] You must stop Fiona.
She used our sorrow to fuel her anger. She's on top of the tower. I'll help... (surprised, shocked with fear) Oh no!
In her dream Gwendolen believes that her fiance Brian loves her and will become a perfect husband for her but has a slight feeling that everything happening is terribly wrong.
Gwendolen (calm lifeless voice): Brian Wolfe loves me. I know it!
He's kind to me.
I-I feel like something's wrong, but I don't think Brian would ever hurt me.
In her dream Gwendolen remembers how her fiance, Brian, tricked her: as soon as she signed the marriage contract - asylum's staff appeared and took her to the hospital.
Gwendolen (sad, melancholic, in a depressed voice, without any hurry): I was engaged to a young soldier named Robin. One day I got a letter saying that Robin was killed during the war. I was overcome with grief.
Then I met Brian. He was handsome, and I fell for him instantly. He insisted on keeping our engagement a secret. My aristocratic parents wouldn't allow the marriage.
Brian asked to prove my feelings for him by signing a marriage contract sharing my money with him. I was naive and agreed.
When I signed the contract, I was signing my own death warrant. The asylum's keepers arrived and took me away. Brian took my inheritance.
Detective finds clues on how Brian tricked Gwendolen.
Gwendolen (surprised, unconfident, with a suspicion) : Oh no… What's wrong with Brian?
Gwendolen tries to remember just anything about her past true love.
Gwendolen (bitter, regretful voice): I have nothing to live for. Nothing makes any sense.
I had a friend in my childhood... But I can't remember him.
(with hope, like she remembered something good that happened long time ago) Robin! I remember now. He gave me a doll. I was scared of the dark, and he came with a lantern to save me.
(with a doubt in a voice) We were very close as teenagers.
He started paying a lot of attention to me. (doubt) It struck me like lightning. Was it love?
(regrets, sad voice) Robin became a soldier. We were engaged when he was called to war. We postponed wedding...
(with pain and sadness in a voice) My poor Robin! I received a letter saying he died. I kept it for a long time. Then Brian Wolfe appeared... What have I done?
(surprised, shocked) Robin's alive! Wolfe tricked me to get my inheritance!
In other Gwen’s maladive dream grown-up cruel Gwendolen becomes the directress of the corrupted asylum and meets new patient. Gwen’s voice should be sharp and older than her normal voice (her grown-up dream incarnation is near 40-45 y.o)
Possessed Gwendolen (sarcastic): Welcome to the asylum, Mrs. O’Reilly. We look forward to picking apart that BRAIN of yours. This conversation will be RECORDED.
Possessed Gwendolen (sarcastic, sadistic): Your brother paid us a lot of MONEY to keep you here. We'll say it was you that burned down the HOUSE with your relatives inside. You’re dangerous and need to be LOCKED up.
Detective finds Fiona and her captives on the top of Asylum's tower roof. Player has to free the captives as soon as possible.
Gwendolen (grateful, motivational): Thank you, Detective. Look, the fire's weakening. So is Fiona…
