Farmer Herman Moves His Barn ZD1202378
The video script is adapted from a new children's book about to be released this fall. The book, based on a true story, is about how a lot of people working together can solve big problems and was created to raise awareness about kids and families in the U.S. Foster Care System. The voice-over will be used to create a promo video and in some online training material that equips communities to engage in the Foster Care system. The video will use some of the illustrations from the book which were drawn by 344 different kids, foster parents, adoptive parents, social workers, authors, and recording artists.
*the last name of the farmer in the script is pronounced "Oh-stree"

an elementary aged girl
Herman and Donna Ostry had a farm just outside of Bruno, Nebraska . . . Population 143.
Farmer Herman had a beautiful piece of land and lots of animals.
AND he had a barn with a big, BIG problem.
You see, every time it rained, Farmer Herman’s barn would fill up with water. And a barn that fills up with water can’t really be used for anything.
He didn’t know what to do.
One night at dinner he made a joke at the dinner table: “If we had enough people, we could just pick the barn up and move it.”
The next day, Farmer Herman’s son, Mike went out to the barn and started measuring and counting the boards. He added it all up and figured out that the barn weighed over 16,000 pounds.
That’s REALLY heavy . . .
