Duxford and Torbay Airshow 2016 DVD Narration
The script contains an introduction, a few links and an outro to a DVD programme covering the flying displays at the Torbay airshow. It also includes the intro to an airshow at IWM Duxford. The family audience is about to enjoy an entertaining DVD on a subject matter they enjoy. The tone wants to be heading towards authoritative but not in a sombre way - fun being the flavour of the event and the displays the viewer will be watching.

*Note, the script provided is the entire script.

Torbay Airshow 2016 DVD Script

“PlanesTV has been covering airshows for 30 years but this was our first visit to Torbay - a wonderful venue for an air display, and we hope to back at the show for many years to come.”

Interview with Mayor

“This programme includes all the displays from the the show, including some on board material and interviews with the participants, here’s a look at some of the flying action coming up.”

Evening display

“The opening act at the very first Torbay Airshow was a Friday evening performance by the ‘Twisters’ display team. Their pyrotechnic routine in the dusk was a superb way to kick things off.”
Weekend displays

“Opening the weekend flying display was the Tigers Parachute Display Team.

The Sea Vixen was at home operating over the sea in its service life with the Royal Navy, looked magnificent in the skies above the bay.

Pete Davies is a prolific performer at airshows and always puts on a superb show with his Calidus Autogyro.

Simon Wilson up next taking a break from the day job as a Navy pilot to display this Piston Provost.

The Yakovlevs display the Yak-50 and Yak-52 aircraft in this precision aerobatic routine.

There’s something slightly crazy about strapping yourself to top wing of a biplane, but these guys are pros.

An unusual aircraft now - the Strikemaster flown by Mark Petrie

The highlight of the flying display for many - the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows.

From the Red Arrows to their civilian equivalent, The Blades are largely made up of ex Red Arrows pilots and fly the Extra 300.

Sadly the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster was out of action at the beginning of the 2016 airshow season, they still put on a fine performance at Torbay though with the Spitfire and Hurricane.

A superb demonstration of the RAF’s front line fast jet now - the Typhoon.”

“And indeed - what a way to bring the very first Torbay Airshow to a close, PlanesTV hopes to be back again in the future, perhaps we’ll see you there!”

Duxford Airshow 2016 DVD Script

“Once again PlanesTV finds itself back at the hub of classic aviation, Imperial War Museum Duxford. This year, Duxford saw the reopening of it’s American Air Museum. To celebrate this, the May air show focussed strongly on the collaboration between British and American forces, and in particular the American forces’ role during the first and second world wars.

The airshow proper kicked off with a stunning display from the Patrouille de France, before taking a step back in time with displays from a pair of SE5as flying with a Fokker DR.1. Duxford based, B-17 ‘Sally B’, and the rarely seen A6m Zero replica.

The show also illustrated the Vietnam war, with notable appearances from both the Huey and the Loach, before bringing us back up to date with the ever impressive RAF Typhoon and Red Arrows.

Event commentary throughout is from Ben Dunnell and Colin Wilsher.”
