YGN has developed a proprietary Transition Process for Special Operations veterans. Through four phases--Assess, Explore, Prepare, and Execute--Participants are empowered to pursue targeted opportunities, secure a position with a great company, and succeed on a new team.
In order to better serve the organization and transitioning veterans, the process is going digital.
In Phase 1, Assess, participants provide information about their background and their interests. They complete assessments measuring their behavioral traits and personality, as well as their relevant knowledge and experience for potential roles and industries. Ultimately, the goal is to develop their CANDIDATE PROFILE, which will continue to populate throughout the process.
Participants are given a Transition Readiness Score or “TRS” inside their profile. This score tracks the overall progress and status of candidates as they move through all four phases of the process.
In Phase 2, Explore, participants explore potential industries and roles, gaining familiarity with career options. Before progressing to the next phase, the participant selects a specific role in a specific industry. Based on information captured in the first phase and the job requirements aligned with the participant’s selected industry and role, a gap analysis is generated and serves as the foundation for the participant’s customized ROADMAP.
In Phase 3, Prepare, participants are navigating their customized roadmap. Their roadmap will include necessary hard and soft skills, required education, certifications, and even experience. A mentor is assigned to the participant in Phase 3, responsible for guiding, supporting, and ensuring successful completion of steps in the participant’s roadmap.
In Phase 4, Execute, participants gain access to a CURATED LIST OF OPPORTUNITIES and work with their mentors to secure an interview, and start the interviewing process. After attending interviews, the participant will capture relevant notes inside their profile. Visible to the participant, their mentor, and YGN staff, this information will be useful for the job candidate in subsequent meetings, and extremely valuable data for YGN.
How does all this work?
The YGN Transition Process will be a secure, cloud-based application, powered by a custom content management system that enables YGN and mentors to monitor and manage all aspects of the transition process through a dashboard.
Digitizing the Transition Process is the key to scalability for YGN.
