Project Main Details
We are looking for a voice over artist to deliver about 15 minutes of voice over content. These videos will be used as part of an animated series of videos to serve as Informed Consent for doctors to explain medical procedures to their patients. The patients will watch these videos before undergoing a surgical procedure, so they would be under a certain amount of anxiety and pressure. It is important to convey calm and comforting tone to the patient watching the videos and re-assure their trust while also clearly communicating the details of the procedure. It is important to speak and pronounce every syllable of every word clearly.

Colonoscopy is a procedure that involves carefully examining the inner lining of the colon using a thin flexible instrument called a colonoscope. The procedure is most commonly performed as a screening test for colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer and cancer-related deaths in men and women in the United States. According to various national agencies and academic centers, more than 90 percent of deaths from colorectal cancer might be prevented if everyone age 50 and older were screened regularly. National guidelines recommend that colonoscopies be performed every ten years, beginning at age 50 and continued at more frequent intervals if risk factors for colon cancer are present.
Colorectal cancer usually begins with abnormal tissue growths, called polyps. Most polyps will not progress to colon cancer; however, every colon cancer starts out as a small benign polyp. Since, when small, it is not possible to know which polyps will develop into cancer, most polyps found during an exam will be removed. Current data supports that by removing these polyps, the incidence of colon cancer is significantly reduced.
Additionally, colonoscopy can be used to investigate and diagnose other gastrointestinal problems such as inflammation and causes of intestinal bleeding.
Over the next 15 minutes, we will provide you with in-depth information about colonoscopy, so that you can be as relaxed as possible before, during, and after the procedure. This will assist you in gathering the information you need, and allow you to discuss any remaining questions you have with your physician on the day of your procedure. So take your time, and listen closely to the following information.
