Nike recognized this when they wanted to launch their new Snowboard Boot design by 2x Olympic Medalist Snowboarder Danny Kass, so they called upon
Windowseat and our Director Bill Kiely. Nike’s brief was filled with space-inspired images of rockets, shuttles, and the moon. We ran with it and created an original digital series that sent Danny Kass and "Champ" the Chimpanzee to train for Mission 82 – engaging the audiences of both Danny and Nike. Windowseat became the first company in history to send a snowboarder to space, and sales of Nike’s boots skyrocketed.
The United States Air Force was looking to amp up their recruiting campaign, so they came to Windowseat for our powerful storytelling. Our idea was to create content on the men and women within the Air Force, showcasing their career choices so that new recruits might feel inspired by their stories. We brought their tagline "Do Something Amazing" to life by traveling to bases across the country, bridging the gap between advertising and reality. This campaign leveraged authentic storytelling and, as a result, their recruitment drive was the most successful in history during a time of war. Windowseat received countless accolades and awards for our effective work.
When Mattel launched a new line of fingerboards to take on the leaders of this category, they tapped Windowseat to create a social and cultural buzz and turn heads. Our idea? None other than Mr. Hand himself, who has since become a legend thanks to our activation campaign around the timely Summer X-Games. We lit up the X Games crowd and the web alike with our grassroots stunt. Mr. Hand poached some runs during the actual competition! And leading up to this unforgettable moment in skate history, we released secret test footage through key social influencers’ YouTube Channels.
User generated content from the event also garnered hundreds of thousands of views. Our creative expanded Mattel’s presence at the XGames in a irreverent way, creating positive social noise in an event typically owned by other brands.
For the past 10 years Vans, has counted on Windowseat to create impactful youth culture and action sports content across all media platforms. Our history of creating commercials and TV shows for their proprietary events has evolved to broadcasting live webcasts and digital content for their OFF THE WALL channel.
In surfing there is no other event more prestigious than the Vans Triple Crown. Each year, we produce an 11-day webcast, creating daily content that we integrate into their social media platforms and we produce a companion television show for international markets. Our live event webcast reached over 10.4 million uniques streams and our content received an unprecedented audience engagement across multiple platforms - with over 200 million and counting.
