Project Main Details

CAA Overview video
This is for a video promoting a community college program aimed at 18-25 year olds, but the video's audience is faculty, school administrators, and policy makers. We would like the VO to be a young, male voice, that's intelligent, confident, and sophisticated. We're remaking an older video, but aim to produce an updated version in the near future. We will probably use the same talent. I prefer talent that have their own recording setup and patch-in ability, but this is not mandatory if you can work and respond in a timely manner.

Script Details

The following is the full script:
The career advancement academies, or CAAs, are community college programs that establish pipelines to college and high wage careers for underprepared and underemployed youth and adults. In the CAAs, career technical education instructors work together with basic skills instructors to design programs and curriculum that address student preparation levels and continuing educational opportunities, while simultaneously addressing technical and career skills.

The CAAs emphasize a contextualized approach. By using the natural language and math opportunities that show up in CTE settings, math and English are taught to students in the context of their career sector of interest. For example, in a woodworking program, basic skills instructors use as course content the math and language commonly used in a wood shop, building students' basic skills in context.

In the CAAs, students are placed in cohorts or learning communities where they take all their classes together, build networks, and create strong peer to peer support.

Contextual learning and the cohort experience show promise in helping students to continue their education and career preparation.

CAAs also emphasize career counseling and college success courses. Emphasis is on supporting students and in helping them transition to continuing education and career pathways.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
