Script Details

One of the greatest challenges in increasing access to basic services for the poor is aligning the various actors required to effectively deliver those services.

Inherently, diverse actors have differing and often competing interests that can prohibit the implementation of even mutually agreed-upon solutions.

Output based aid, or OBA, is an approach that accepts this reality by aligning actors through meaningful incentives disbursed only after independent verification of service delivery.

For the last several years, East Meets West, an NGO working in Southeast Asia, has been implementing an OBA program aimed at increasing improved sanitation coverage among the rural poor. Their experience offers key learnings for development practitioners considering output-based aid in the context of water and sanitation, as well as other development interventions.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
