Script Details

Indian accent: Monsoon Afternoon

I saw dark clouds roll like ocean waves across the sky. The temple flags fluttered loudly. The peacocks called out, tahuoonk, tahuoonk.

The dogs woke up and stretched their legs, and the cows got up and left. Ants scurried across the ground as if the earth were one big maze.

I counted the raindrops, one, two, three. Soon there were too many to count. On the patio, the rain fell fast, cutting the heat in half. “Dadima, can you come out and play?” I asked. “Not now. I want to drink my tea,” she said, going in the kitchen.

Nicaraguan accent: Marketplace Hero

Today I was a hero.

It all started when I woke up this morning. My Abuela was cooking breakfast in the kitchen. I could smell her making my favorite food, fried bananas. I ate all of them.

“Did you finish your homework for school, Carlos?” she asked me.

“Of course, Abuela,” I said.

“Good. Now put on your uniform.”

American accent: Hobbies

Sam is my name. Soccer is my game. Even though soccer is my favorite sport, I love anything athletic. Playing sports is a good way to get exercise.

When I kick my soccer ball around or shoot some hoops, it helps me stay healthy.

I have made lots of new friends by playing sports. Some of my friends play on sports teams. Others just play for fun. My classmates play all kinds of sports.
