Hiring Your Own Employees
When you hire an employee, they are always available. They work under your roof, so the cost for them is lower than a company who is responsible for paying overhead. They have a stronger sense of pride in your company and want to promote your brand. The nice thing about them working under your roof is that you can delegate tasks to them permanently, or at least before they decide they don’t want to work for you anymore.
An employee expects paid vacations, equipment, a place to work, to be paid a salary like clockwork, specific entitlements, health benefits, zero liability, taxes withheld, and frequent pay raises. Even when work is slow, they are paid to be there, not for delivering work that actually matters. In previous decades, employees have always had a long term commitment to the company they worked for, but with today’s economy, there is so much competition, that they are more likely to hop ship as soon as a slightly better opportunity arises. You are always the one training them, and as soon as they leave, all that training no longer benefits you, it’s actually going to benefit your competition. There is a limit to the amount of service delivered. You can’t have a team unless you pay a large amount of payroll, and you can’t expect to rush deliverables if you don’t have a team. This is a bottleneck situation that is commonly found within small businesses.
Hiring An Individual
Now hiring an individual to handle your marketing can be better or even more stressful, depending on your current situation. At least you can calm down a bit and think. You aren’t stuck paying for someone’s salary and training, even those who don’t focus or even care to learn. You can hire the new individual when you are ready and look forward to their proposal. In most cases, they already have many years of experience with many different types of clients. They are paid for deliverables, not paid to be distracting people at your office.
Hiring an individual sounds much better, but let’s talk about the fact that they are not always available, and even when they are, the amount of service is limited to just one person. That person will always be way too stressed out juggling production, management, accounts, direction, billing, and administrative tasks. You’ll lose some control over how tasks are performed, because you can’t closely monitor their work. They are hired short term, so you might not get the same worker for the next project, and every time you hire a newcomer you’re going to have to teach them about your company all over again. Finally, their work is done under their business name, they will not promote your brand, but their own, and they might even hold onto all the copyrights as well.
Hiring A Physical Company
Just like hiring an individual, when you hire a company, you don’t have to pay them when you have no work for them. With a company, you gain even more valuable marketing strategies than with an individual, because they don’t just learn strategy from just clients, they learn strategy from their associates as well. Another reason a company is better than an individual, is because they are capable of delivering a ton of service in a short amount of time.
So companies get the gold medal for service, but that can come at a cost. Many companies have glamorous buildings, attorney fees, maintenance fees, and guess who’s going to be indirectly paying for that? It’s going to be included in the invoice they send you. That’s not the end of it. You may be paying for a lot of unnecessary meetings, distraction, and deadweight staff. This isn’t always the case, but sometimes companies are so large, that there is a lack of concern for the prosperity of their customers. They’re going to provide the service you want, but it’s rare for them to go above and beyond. In most cases, the more people that work at a company, the more skewed your original direction will become.
Hiring Revision - Your One Stop Shop
Revision is a contemporary, virtual marketing agency, which has been carefully designed to provide an excellent service with as little slack and waste possible. We are independent, so you don’t have to pay us when there is no work. With a history of working for over 200 small businesses, you’ll gain valuable marketing strategies. You’ll gain an unlimited amount of free consultation and access to many preferred vendors. The agency is virtual, so there is no property expense. The workers, aka “Revisers”, were hand selected by an designer with over a decade of experience. So the client can provide as much control and direction as they want, but they can also leave it in our hands and focus on their core competency. With no physical office, there is more focus, because people are not distracted by others.
We can’t build you a website in 24 hours, but you can expect to receive roughly ten times the amount of work product than you would if you hired an individual. Even if you assign permanent, recurring tasks, we will be happy to accommodate them and lock you in at a low service rate. No more feelings of guilt for firing employees. If you don’t have any work, just don’t submit any requests to us. No hard feelings. You can reach back to us when you need help again.
Our concern for the prosperity and brand exposure for our customers is of utmost importance. Our second concern is trust and transparency, which is why we deliver weekly contact sheets (a thumbnail gallery of every item we have touched), timesheets, live event history, and as many screenshare conferences as you want. We are responsible for training our Revisers. Training you don’t have to pay for. Training to people who don’t quit. Training that took decades of hard work to formulate.
We agree to not disclose anything you consider confidential. No credit will be given to Revision anywhere other than our portfolio if you permit it, and all copyrights will be owned by customer at all times.
