The people who built America wore Wranglers. They are jeans of lasting quality built with durability and price in mind for men who put in hours outside of a cubicle.
Reaching this group through social media is tough, so what better way to grab their attention than by showing that we put as much time into perfecting our jeans as they do into perfecting their craft. Wrangler jeans are Built to Last.
Traditional print and out of home would say “Heres to the weeks of work and the over worked. To the hours of overtime spent on a timeless craft. To the satisfaction you get from a job done right” and “You cant do the job right with the wrong tools”.
On facebook, men would be greeted with a message glorifying the durable tool they wear every day with #builttolast. Posts on the page would highlight everyone from mechanics to painters getting the job done right.
A facebook app would allow men to show off their accomplishments by selecting their craft and sharing what they’ve created, whether its a custom motorcycle, a simple bird house, or even a family. Daily winners are rewarded with special tools to help them keep building.
A Wrangler instagram would allow users to share and like the photos and videos accumulated from the competition. On twitter, wrangler would post and retweet brands connected with the target, for instance, responding to a post by jim beam about getting your hands dirty.
For a target audience used to doing things without the help of a computer, combining traditional and digital platforms is a great way for Wrangler guys to show off what they’re proud of building.
In the end, America was built with Wranglers and Wranglers are built to last.
