Project Main Details
We are preparing a pilot for a radio serial style presentation for a major publisher. If successfully selected then this will turn into a regular series. The project is set in World War Two and inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft. Based on already successfully published works we have strong reason to expect this to become a regular piece of work for the successful auditionees. Recording will be done in a London studio and actors MUST be based in London or have easy access to London on the recording days required. Good range and ability to take direction are essential. We will pay an initial £100 to £150 per day for the first recording and expect to pay the same for any future recordings dependent upon the contractual terms agreed with the audio publisher. Initial pilot is approximately one hour but first series is likely to be 5 or 6 hours minimum per episode. 2015-06-02 20:32:14 GMT 2015-07-31 20:00:00 (GMT 0) Greenwich Mean Time: Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 22 20 5 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 3 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. Pathe News Style Radio Announcer: As October 1939 begins, the first pictures are shot of a great British victory over the Nazi threat. However, unbeknownst to the general public, the daring 5-hour raid only serves to cover a secret mission set up by the British intelligence agency. While in England, the American Professor Richard Hardiman is recruited to travel to France. His mission: contact former Wyndham and Campbell clerk Audrey McPherson, who has uncovered a strange mystery…
RAF Pilot: Pulling up to 9000 feet! Hit them with the Vickers, will you? OK, hold on! I’m going to pull back the throttle! I’ve got him, boy, right down the middle! Shack! That’s a second Jerry down! Good show, old chap!
American Professor (40 something Bostonian): The beings I have seen, those extradimensional monstrosities, those hulking brutes of unimaginable power… they do what we so fervently hope our absent, invisible God would do. They listen. They talk to their followers. And, yes, they intervene... And in doing so, their actions may seem born out of an unspeakable evil, but, truthfully, I'm not even sure of that much. You see, evil is recognisable. It's understandable. It is... Predictable. But the creatures I'm talking about... They do not reason like we do. Their thoughts are unknowable, their goals clouded in the mists of time. For they are ancient, antediluvian. Me, I would have given anything to be up against Satan or Beelzebub or some other demon, against evil personified. But in that month of October, 1939, I wasn't. I was up against something of an entirely different nature…
American Professor (second audition piece - conversational): The color is off, I’m afraid. It appears you may not have added enough Cointreau. A Sidecar needs equal parts brandy and Cointreau… with some lemon juice thrown in. Makes for a perfect cocktail to have after a meal. Otherwise, it’d be better suited as a pre-dinner cocktail.
Parisian barkeep: You speak English? I’m sure it’s me who should apologise: my English doesn’t fare any better, Miss…? A British girl, alone in a bar near the Notre Dame… Either you are waiting for someone or you are looking for something.
German soldier: No, I’m not French. And we couldn’t care less about Heisler and his castle. In fact, you did us a favour. So, how is your friend’s arm doing? I hear it got pretty mangled after that last fight. (In German): Hände in die Luft! Ich denke, dass sie hier sind. Nein. Sie müssen an dieser Straße gelaufen.
Mid-late Twenties English secretary sent by Intelligence to France: This is a dark time, Professor. A girl has to learn fast… But what about you? You seem to be some kind of super sleuth. Come on. How you picked up on that cocktail mistake… The collar thing… Admit it. You’re a private eye! Or a spy.
Late teens/early 20s French resistance girl: This way. We must take the long way round otherwise they will cut us off. How do you know so much about Notre Dame? Surely an American like you knows all about charming a pretty French girl...? One more step and I will fill you with holes!
