Script Details

*This is a voice over of a video presentation of a Mexican American woman in her 60's. She has children and grandchildren of whom she is very proud.
My grandchildren give me such joy – I want them to have every opportunity in the world. David and I worked hard so that our children could attend the best schools and it's paid off.

All three have good jobs and families of their own. And two of them have given us very intelligent grandchildren.

By the time she was four Alicia could name every state on the map of the United States. And Juan Manuel, he could be a great leader some day – he is so good with words and so thoughtful.

I tell them, "Work hard nino, keep at your books nina. Make your abuela proud.

To make sure they have the same chance their parents did we have carefully set aside money to help them go to college.

Young people can be impetuous.
I've seen children and grandchildren "blow" their inheritance on cars and other things that will not last. A friend of ours grandson spent his entire inheritance in less than a year's time and had nothing to show for it.

This is so disrespectful to the loved one who spent their lifetime earning that money. And spent a lifetime dreaming of what it could give to those who inherited it.

Hopefully we will live to see all our grandchildren graduate from college, but just in case, I want to ensure that safeguards are in place so that in the rush of excitement Alicia and Juan Manuel do not make poor decisions.
