Project Main Details
1) We are looking for a casual but passionate read. Similar to what you hear in this video: ***************************
2) "Wycliffe" is pronounced "Wih-cliff" (think "Whi" as in "Whiff") not "Why-cliff".
3) A demo of part of the script is required for a successful bid. You can read as much or as little of this as you like but the entire script is posted. There will be some minor changes but it is about 90% finished. Some variations on read are appreciated and may help improve your chances but are not required. 2013-05-29 16:44:45 GMT 2013-06-05 16:00:00 (GMT -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 0 0 0 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 0 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. The Bible—it’s one of the oldest and most-popular books of all time. But is it just a book, or is it much more than that?
At Wycliffe, we believe that the Bible is literally God’s Word to us.
It teaches us about Him, about ourselves, and about why we’re all here—reaching to the very depths of our souls and challenging us to live for a purpose greater than ourselves.
God uses the Bible to bring hope and restoration. We’ve seen people freed from addictions, saved from violent lifestyles, and rescued from some very dark corners of their own hearts. Men and women have found forgiveness for past mistakes and relationships have been restored—each empowered by the truth and wisdom of God’s Word.
But here’s the problem: Not everyone has access to God’s Word. In fact, people from more than two thousand language groups are still waiting for their Bible translation to begin. That’s approximately two hundred million men, women, and children who don’t have a single word of the Bible in a language they can clearly understand.
That’s where Wycliffe comes in. We enter communities and engage with the locals in the translation process. Our workers partner with indigenous people to learn their language fluently, and then work together to create a translation that is both clear and accurate. This process often takes at least ten to fifteen years, but has some pretty amazing results.
Literacy, education and better health practices to name a few. Yet, the most important result, the reason that we translate the Bible, is so more people may be able to meet and have a relationship with Jesus.
And when coupled with their new-found understanding of God’s Word, their communities blossom, and their changed lives are able to make a bigger impact on the needs of those around them.
That’s why Wycliffe exists. That’s why we are working with more than fifteen hundred language communities right now to help them get God’s Word. And though most of these have many years to go until completion, we won’t stop until all people have the Bible in a language they can understand.
