Project Main Details
The script for this web promo consists of short letters written by attendees of a recent religious leadership event.
The read should not come across as "broadcast" or "professional" but rather it should sound like someone reading their own letter. perhaps reading a letter-or journal-to a friend, or small group of friends.
Read at a comfortable, authentic pace. The more powerful words and phrases can be naturally emphasized. The timing should be natural--authenticity and sincerity are the highest value. If this sounds real (like you attended the event and wrote these words), that's what we're looking for.
An important distinction--it should not sound like you're saying these words for the first time. We actually want it to sound like you're reading your own words--while still expressing the passion that you felt when you first wrote them.
The voiceover should be delivered using clear, easy-to-understand English, combined with a distinct accent. (Central African, in this case.)
The various portions of the script--read with different accents--will all be combined together for an "international" feel.
20 seconds.

“The GLS at Nairobi was a historic event. We had over a thousand attendees—including church and business leaders from Uganda, Ghana, Ehthiopia, Rwanda and Tanzania. After the first session one of the business men in attendance called his office and asked them to shut down the operation for the next two days, so the staff could join him at the conference. This illustrates how much this type of training is needed in our part of the world.” Audition script:
