The general manufacturing process for electronic printed circuit board assembly comprises of a number of critical stages, all of which present varying challenges which need to be managed effectively in order achieve consistently high levels of quality. For example it is well known that the application of solder paste is one area which can dramatically affect the quality of the final product. We targeted this area sometime ago and installed an in-line three dimensional fully automatic solder paste inspection system. This system allows continuous data feedback, enabling accurate, repeatable solder place application leading to improved yields and quality. We have taken the same approach across all aspects of production ensuring we have the latest technology deployed to maximise our efficiency.
Our state of the art SMT placement machines are capable of placing the latest generation of components from 01 005 case sizes through to 55 mm square ball grid arrays, leadless chip carriers, leadless grid arrays and package on package devices. These devices coupled with the thermal demands of the Printed Circuit Boards influenced our decision to install the latest Vapour Phase ovens into our process. This investment has enhanced our current reflow capability allowing highly complex products to be manufactured efficiently.
Our customer’s requirements play a key role in our investment decisions and we are committed to a collaborative approach in terms of service improvements. The key driver for our customers is quality and yield and as we move on through the facility, you will notice we have installed fully automatic in-line inspection systems; which facilitate additional measurement and monitoring of the manufacturing process enabling early identification of any potential manufacturing issues.
We take quality very seriously at Technology and as you would expect we have in place industry standard test equipment including X-ray, flying probe, in circuit test and J-tag test capability.
Our industry is continuously changing, with the demands on us as your supplier increasing. We welcome this challenge and are responding accordingly by constantly enhancing our production methods, not only in PCB assembly but in our complex box build capability including cable assemblies and functional test, which is a key area of growth for us.
