Script Details
SFX: Old time organ, played in the style of superhero episodic radio.
Narrator: (Male, straight out of old-time radio Superman episodes. Slightly scratchy, as if through an old radio):
There’s trouble in our midst. An evil far more dangerous than J-walkers and double parkers. It’s the scoundrels who are wasting our precious water! (Menacing organ stinger) But wait! There are heroes among us; Champions who walk this earth with water saving powers far beyond mere mortals. Our story begins in Burlingame with the Amazing Jackie Wong. She brushes her teeth with the water off!
Jackie Wong: (girl around 7-8 (Confidently as we hear the sound of water being turned off) Water off. Just like that.
Narrator: She’s saving hundreds of gallons every year. (organ flourish) Meanwhile, over in Hayward (organ stinger) The Marvelous Ray Samuels is watering his yard.
Ray Samuels: (Matter-of-fact, humble) Well, I’m watering my lawn in the early morning, instead of the heat of mid-day.
Narrator: Did you hear that, citizens? He’s using his super-human
skills to save water!
Ray Samuels: It’s really not a big deal I just water my yard…
Narrator: (Cuts Ray off mid-sentence..) Simply amazing. Remember, it was one of the driest winters on record, and every man, woman, and child has the chance to be a water saving hero. To learn more water saving tips, go to water saving hero dot org. And save civilization. Or at least save water.

People who look the other way when the sprinkler is watering the sidewalk instead of the yard. (Menacing organ stinger) But wait! There are heroes among us; Champions who walk this earth with water saving powers far beyond mere mortals. (Music ends abruptly)
Our story continues in San Francisco with the Fantastic Frank Chen. He has a secret weapon!
Frank Chen: (sound of sweeping)
It’s a broom. It works great, doesn’t it?
Narrator: What a grime fighter! (organ flourish) You too can save
hundreds of gallons of water by sweeping instead of hosing off your sidewalk or driveway. Meanwhile, over in Santa Clara (organ stinger) our Hero Hana Newman has stopped her running toilet dead in its tracks
Hana Newman: (Matter-of-fact, humble) Yes, well, my toilet was running and I fixed it.
Narrator: Thank heavens for Hana Newman! Leaky faucets and
running toilets are a menace to society!
Hana Newman: I was just doing what any sensible citizen person would…
