Project Main Details
Seeking female voice talent (ideally aged 18-20) for voice-over to be used in a promotional book "trailer" that will be distributed primarily online as part of the PR campaign for a young adult book published by a major publisher in spring 2008. The $200 fee will include unlimited online distribution and public presentation at industry trade shows. In the unlikely event that this were ever used for broadcast, a separate fee would be negotiated for those rights.
The character in the voice-over is a 17 year old girl who has emerged from a coma with a lot of questions about her identity. She has a strong personality, but is uncertain about who she is. The script should be read as if the character were recording an audio diary or were sharing a secret with a friend. It should be read at a moderate pace without angst or agonizing, more like she is trying to figure something out.

The accident was over a year ago. I’ve been awake for two weeks. Over a year has vanished. I’ve gone from sixteen to seventeen. A second woman has been elected president. A twelfth planet has been named in the solar system. The last wild polar bear has died. I slept through it all.
Father was here for my waking. He called it a beginning. He said it was good. I think he may have thought that anything I did was good. Each day I improved. One day I couldn’t walk. The next day I could. One day my tongue lay like a lump of meat in my mouth, the next day it was articulating words that hadn’t been spoken in a year.
