“Wild Girl” Audition Sides (Oct. ’10)

[Suggest “coming-of-age” drama, but not melodramatic. Angelina Jolie has been referenced as voice type, but not necessarily limited to it.]

Both are motherless
Both are taken to a new place where they struggle to fit in.

Lidie is a young immigrant from Brazil reuniting with her Father and Brother in New York.
At the same time a young Filly is transported to a famous racetrack where Lidie now lives.

While the horse tries to learn the way of the racetrack, Lidie struggles with English in her new school.
And most difficult of all is that her father and brother treat her like the little girl they left behind.

Both just want to belong
Both are called, Wild Girl

And together they will live up to that name and show everyone who they are.

From two-time Newbury honor-winning author Patricia Reilly Giff comes WILD GIRL.
