Voices of snob teenage girl
We are looking for a character voice to act as a “snob” teenage girl (16 to 18 yrs old) in our audio skit “Responsus”(tentative title at this point).
Our company ********* Media, publishes a series of educational audio montage/adventures. The overall audio adventure will be about 40 minutes but the snob girl part is one of the small character in this adventure.
The skits are designed to kick-start discussion in classrooms, or plain family entertainment. Each one tackles character building from a different perspective. We will be producing more episode and this character could possibly re-appear in future production.

There will be supporting casts of adults (teachers, parents etc...) and other kids coming in and out. The settings is urban, the kids will have to deal with modern urban issues. The old part of a school is the "mysterious place" which will allow us to bring some mild fantasy to the stories. The stories takes place in the present. I have provided a sample the full script of the snob teenage girl-Susan.

The part of the snob girl is of about 12 lines, I suspect under a minute or 2 of overall recording. The “snob girl, called Susan Brown has been spreading rumors and this is the concluding scene when the main character Noranda confronts her. Your voice will be auditioned by several teenagers and kids to see if it the right "person". Unless you sound like a genuine teenage girl, do not bother applying. I have included the leading scene in the script to give you a better idea of the overall role. You can listen to the first part of this adventure at www.theoldcompass.com (site under construction) Click on the green triangle.

The method of payment will be discussed once the candidate has been chosen. Usually Voice-talent artist have provided us with two takes of each lines. By Bidding on this bid the voice-talent artist will sign waiver giving publisher ownership of the completed work, including ad-lib you might ad to the original script. If you do not want to sign waiver, do not apply for this bid. Delivery method can be FTP. We want the recording in full Wave (Not MP3)-usually 16 bit 44.1 KHz. We do the post-production work. The recording must be free of any background noise, basically of studio quality.

The product will be release on a CD for sales to mainly parents, educators/school units. In the coming year, the skit will be available through Web Download as well.

Also, there is no time constraint on your voice-talent work. These skits are not generally strictly limited by any time. Enjoy the free-flow and unleash your talent. Some artist do provide us with a supplementary version where you can Ad-lib, and this is welcome. However, again you are signing the waiver releasing any rights to this part of the production. Please provide for a reasonable amount of re-take if need be in the future.

We have provided enough information for the artist(s) to make an adequate and informative proposal. Sampler voices are a must. We want to thank all of the artists in advance for their time and efforts.

These recordings are for educational purpose and it is not expected to have "Top 40 distribution, although it is shaped as a radio show, there are no plans at this point for radio distribution. Therefore budget is limited.

Script Details

Please read a sample of the script.
That’s pretty annoying, isn’t it? People going around gossiping about things that aren’t true?

Yeah, it’s so unfair!

Irresponsible, I’d say.

Talking about Susan Brown here she comes down the hall...time for me to put the clock back where it should.
(she walks towards Susan Brown)

You’re going to go and talk to Susan...but what if she gets mad or something?

Tricia, I’m not afraid to go and talk to Susan...excuse me...Susan, I need to talk to you for a second...

What me?

Yes you.

What do you want?

I believe you and I need to talk
Talk? I have nothing to tell you!

Well I have a thing to tell you.

And what would that be?

You have been spreading rumours about people which are not true, some about friends of mine.

Like what?

Like Jade and her babysitting...or Tricia going out with Michael Ludwig...

I...I...don’t know what you mean...I never said such things...

Susan, You may denied it if you want, but I know that the stories you are spreading about Jade and Tricia are not true. I checked them out. I think your hurting people with your lies...and you’ll end up hurting yourself in the long run.

(playing innocent) It was all done in good taste...just for fun you know.

I don’t believe that Susan. You’ve done it because that’s how you control who is in and out of your little social group. Isn’t it Susan?

You are starting to get on my nerves Noranda...it’s none of your business

It’s my business when people tells malicious lies about my friends. Which is what you did.

Okay Noranda, I think our conversation as just ended.

You don’t have to be a gossiper Susan, you know, in the long run, people will like you much better if your honest with them....

Okay..Okay...Point taken...I’ll give that some thought...(ferm) Goodbye Noranda!

Goodbye Susan!
