Hi! Welcome to ***********. We’re glad you came. We’ve been looking for a new leader to help our care improvement team work together to improve our cancer screening programs. I’m Elena and I’ve been coaching the care improvement team here for two years. We’ve done a lot to improve our cancer screening during that time but there is so much more to do. I wish I could stay to complete the job but I’m moving to another community health center. The clinic asked me to check in and help you out from time to time, though, and give you any advice you might need.
So let’s get started! When you click on the buttons on the right side of your screen, you’ll be able to learn about the various problems our clinic faces, and members of the team will suggest possible actions. You can explore their suggestions by clicking on them.
As the new leader, it is up to you to make sure the decisions made to improve cancer screening in the clinic are based on the best available evidence. Bad decisions cost time and money. We’ve found our greatest successes have come whenever we’ve consistently checked the evidence and you’ll find it helpful too.
In many cases, you will also be asked to lead by example and show the care team the best way to do things. I enjoyed taking the lead in improvement activities and I hope you will too.
We’ve also set up a system that shows you up-to-date screening rates and the time and financial resources you have left to explore more suggestions for improving our screening rates. That’s down here. Up in this corner there are other useful buttons, like the Library, where you can find reference materials or save materials for later use in the clinic.
