THE SHOP BOYZ WATCHED AS LOCAL GROUPS LIKE D4L AND DEM FRANCHIZE BOYS USED RAPPING AS A MEANS TO SUCCESS AND THEY DECIDED TO DO THE SAME. HOWEVER, DETERMINED TO FIND THEIR OWN NICHE, THEY BROKE AWAY FROM THE SNAP/CRUNK PHENOMENON, AND WENT WITH ANOTHER SOUND WHICH MESHED HIP HOP WITH ROCK.
ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE FANS OF ALL AGES ROCKING OUT, THE SHOPS BOYZ ARE THE FIRST TO ADMIT THEY AREN’T FANS OF THE GENRE. THERE SOUND WAS BORN, MERELY, FROM THE DESIRE TO BE DIFFERENT.
