Project Main Details
Butterflies are symbolic to Dan and Kelly (Olivia’s mother) so where ever that could be incorporated would be way cool.
She wears a lot of hats, some mature looking but mostly colorful and fun.
Always has a blanket on her.
Her tiny dog George runs and sits up on her wheelchair.
She grows her hair out each year for Locks of Love.
She has an iPod and that’s what keeps her soothed and entertained. She loves Dora Dora, Bob the Builder and Hip Hop/Contemporary music.
She’s blind, tube fed and diapered. Unable to talk, walk, etc.
She has a contagious laugh.
She loves wearing leggings and fun ugg boots.
One of her favorite things is when her dad sings to her, especially who’s that doggy in the window.
She wears a pretty ring that her grandmother gave her.
Her birthday is July 26th.
Here’s one just for us to chuckle about…she gets botox and has for over ten years! She gets her injections in her neck and shoulder region to relax the tendons. Not her face! If I could get botox, I would raid her stash for sure!! 2014-02-10 19:22:40 GMT 2014-02-11 17:00:00 (GMT -07:00) Arizona Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 3 2 0 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 0 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. JJ: shouts out Whoa! as he swerves and Obie jumps up into Olivia’s lap. The kids all laugh with a mixture of lighthearted disappointment. No one is taking it too seriously.
JJ: Obie, you traitor! kicking up his skateboard while talking to Olivia I guess we’ll have to have rematch later!
OLIVIA: For sure! Petting Obie lovingly maybe when this big guy isn’t around!
OBIE lets out a playful bark and noses Olivia’s cheek. Then he hops off gently while the kids gather around and greet Olivia happily. They are all old friends.
KIZZIE & TILLY: Olivia! They rush to meet her in unison and kind of tackle her
OLIVIA: hugging them both tightly I missed you guys last week! Camera shifts to include the whole group. Charlie is getting the Bible out of the chest, and all the kids start working towards the circle. JJ sits down on his board gently rolling side to side. Olivia is rolling herself into place while speaking.
CHARLIE: We missed you too! Are you doing okay?
OLIVIA: Yeah, I’m great, I just had to go to the dentist. No cavities! But…something kind of weird happened today. Beat looking around sheepishly actually I was hoping you guys could help me. Addressing the whole group
KIDS: (mixture of responses) Yea, of course, what’s up?
Camera shifts back to Olivia, and we shift scenes to her thought bubble. Ringing of school bells and voices talking in the background. Lockers slamming, shoes squeaking. She’s in a typical middle school hallway, looking at the bulletin board. There are papers all over it, but the brightest colored one is towards the bottom and it says: “CALLING ALL ACTORS, SINGERS AND DANCERS” in large font, and in smaller font “We want YOU to for the school play!” with clipart graphics in between. All other text isn’t readable. The bottom of the paper has little tear off pieces with presumably more information on where and when (the text isn’t legible).
OLIVIA: Calling all singers? For the school play? She is hopeful and happy. We see her light up with anticipation.
Two other, unknown kids have meandered up to the board. One of them is reading a different poster about sports, and one of them just tore off a tag for the school play.
OLIVIA: very warmly and kindly Hey, Johnny! Could you grab me one of those, please?
JOHNNY: turning around, surprised, but not mean-spirited But…you’re in a wheelchair!
Olivia’s face is surprised. She blinks a couple times, taken aback. We see a mixture of hurt, disappointment and worry set in. Frame freezes and scene shifts back to the stage. Olivia’s face is the same. We hear, but don’t see the other kids commiserating with her (i.e. Aww, Olivia, that’s rough, aww man!)
OLIVIA: It’s just that – well, I mean I love singing. confident When I sing, I feel like I’m smiling right up at God and he’s smiling right back at me. The worry returns But maybe Johnny’s right. There’s so much dancing and moving and with my chair – well, they might have to change stuff for me. I’m not sure what the other kids would think slightly shrugging her shoulders, uncertain or even if the teacher would let me try out. During her line, Obie walks over and gently lays his head in her lap and Olivia pets him.
