Voice of 6 to 9 yrs old cowgirl Updated
We are looking for a character voice to act as a young cow-girl (6 to 9 yrs old) in our audio skit .

Our company **********Media, publishes a series of educational audio montage/adventures. The overall audio adventure is about 4 minutes.

The skits are designed to kick-start discussion in classrooms, or plain family entertainment. Each one tackles character building from a different perspective. We will be producing more episode and this character could possibly re-appear in future production.

The part of the cowgirl is of about 16 short lines, I had afriend daughter do the part as an example, the little girl is the voice i want to replace...the talking horse is fine!
Unless you sound like a genuine young girl, do not bother applying. Please feel free to unleash your cowgirl talent and ad-lib if you feel comfortable with that!

The method of payment will be discussed once the candidate has been chosen. Usually Voice-talent artist have provided us with two takes of each lines. By Bidding on this bid the voice-talent artist will sign waiver giving publisher ownership of the completed work, including ad-lib you might ad to the original script. If you do not want to sign waiver, do not apply for this bid. Delivery method can be FTP. We want the recording in full Wave (Not MP3)-usually 16 bit 44.1 KHz. We do the post-production work. The recording must be free of any background noise, basically of studio quality.

The product will be release on a CD for sales to mainly parents, educators/school units. In the coming year, the skit will be available through Web Download as well.

Also, there is no time constraint on your voice-talent work. These skits are not generally strictly limited by any time. Enjoy the free-flow and unleash your talent. Some artist do provide us with a supplementary version where you can Ad-lib, and this is welcome. However, again you are signing the waiver releasing any rights to this part of the production. Please provide for a reasonable amount of re-take if need be in the future.

We have provided enough information for the artist(s) to make an adequate and informative proposal. Sampler voices are a must. We want to thank all of the artists in advance for their time and efforts.

These recordings are for educational purpose and it is not expected to have "Top 40 distribution, although it is shaped as a radio show, there are no plans at this point for radio distribution. Therefore budget is limited.

Script Details

Situation: One young cowgirl has been a bystander of bullying. The analogy here is that she figures it’s safer to stay on top of a fence, and not jump on either side, the bully or the bullied. She shares her feelings with her friend Gertrude, a talking horse. This skit is meant to open kids’ eyes to passive bystanding.

Read for Susie.
Gertrude: Hey, Cowgirl, that’s real different! What on earth are you doing there?

Susie: Even a talking horse like you could figure that one out.

Gertrude: By George, what do I see? A young cowgirl standing on top of a fence line staring into a pasture like she’s lost her way home.

Susie: You’ve got it, Gertrude! I’m just standing on a top of a fence, and I don’t know what to do.

Gertrude: Hey, I know I’m only a talking horse, and I’m not a purebred at that, but maybe you could explain a bit better what a young rider is doing up there?

Susie: It’s about bullying, Gertrude.

Gertrude: Bullying . . . I don’t get it!

Susie: I don’t know which side of the fence to jump off!

Gertrude: What do you mean by that?

Susie: It’s about Bullytown, Calamity Jane, and her friends. They’ve been bullying Emma every time she rides to town.

Gertrude: So tell me, what does that have to do with you standing on top of this fence here?

Susie: I’m just trying to decide what side of the fence to jump off.

Gertrude: (horse snort) I don’t get it!

Susie: Every time it happens, it just feels exactly like what I’m doing now. I’m standing on a fence, not knowing what side to jump to.

Gertrude: Well, what if you were to jump, say, on the left side of the fence . . . What happens then?

Susie: That means I would go along with the bullies.

Gertrude: So tell me, what if you were to jump on the right side of the fence?

Susie: I’ll stand up for Emma Longfellow.
Gertrude: Well, Susie, seems like a “no brainer” to me. Why don’t you jump to the right of the fence and stand up for Emma Longfellow?

Susie: Because I’m one scared cowgirl.

Gertrude: A cowgirl scared! Of what?

Susie: I’m scared that if I do something to help her, Calamity Jane and her friends will pick on me. That’s what they’ve done to others. They’re really mean, Gertrude.

Gertrude: That’s called being a coward, Susie.

Susie: You’re probably right, but I think I’m better off to stand here safe on top of the fence and not move.

Gertrude: (snort again) Well, young cowgirl, would you like a piece of advice from your old horse?

Susie: Yepper, Gertrude, I could sure use some wisdom.

Gertrude: Susie, let me tell you something. When it comes to bullying, when you decide to sit on top a fence and try to keep your balance, you’ve already made your choice!

Susie: Ya, do you mean I made a choice?

Gertrude: You sure have . . . you’ve chosen not to get involved . . . you’ve chosen to let Calamity Jane and her friends go on with their bullying. Oh, you’re trying to stay safe with balance, and all the while Emma Longfellow is getting bullied, suffering! And you just stay up there and watch it all happen.

Susie: Ouch! I just fell off the fence.

Gertrude: (snort again) I wonder what side of the fence she fell off? Do you know?
