Project Main Details
The audition script below is for Chris, a student veteran who is having trouble making the transition from college to classroom.
What we need is someone who can sound deadpan, jaded, frustrated, anxious... and someone who takes direction well. Since the bulk of dialogue in this project will be between two characters (as opposed to narration), our characters MUST sound natural and conversational.
If you're interested in auditioning, please record yourself reading the audition script (please also state your name, contact info, and the role you're auditioning for).

CHRIS: I thought college would be a good move, but I’m not so sure now. I’m not sure at all, really. In Afghanistan, everything was clear: we had the vehicle in front of us, we had people depending on us, we had a job to do. We kicked ass and got vehicles back to the fight. But here… no one depends on me. No one notices if I go to class. If I dropped out tomorrow, I don’t think anyone would notice or care. Every day, I just feel like I’m killing time.
NATE: It sounds like you don’t really get along with the students here.
CHRIS: I can’t believe the other students. I know it makes me sound like a grumpy old man, but the kids these days! They show up to class in pajamas. I mean, they live in the best country in the world and I listen to them complain about how their dad won’t pay the phone bill and their life sucks. No perspective at all. And the disrespect they show the instructors is… it’s… it makes me sick. These are students who—unlike me—they’re smart, they could go places. They’re paying to come learn from these professors so they can have a great life, and all they want to do is text each other in class and post on Facebook. I would never interrupt the prof, but outside of class I don’t stand for their whiny crap. Maybe that makes me Mister Angry Vet, but I don’t care. Someone has to be the reality check for these spoiled kids.
