Project Main Details

VO of a precocious young girl to tell her stories
We are in production on ten episodes of a new fictional story series, and are looking for VO talent for the episode narration. The show is written in the first-person, narrated by the main character: a somewhat precocious six-year-old girl who likes to make up silly songs. She is young, energetic and confident, but not bubbly/cartoonish.

There are other characters throughout the episodes that have dialogue. That dialogue should be read as the main character telling us what those other characters said.

Stated budget of $1,000 is for all ten episodes. Potential for further episodes in the future.

Script Details

Another Sunday without pepperoni pizza? No fair. That’s the best part of Sundays, plus not having to eat my salad. Salad is yuck, except for the crouton part. But Mommy says croutons don’t count as salad if you don’t eat the lettuce part. She says we need to clean up our diet. But it’s not even dirty. I already know not to eat food that falls on the floor, except at our own house. If you pick it up super quick it might be okay. Mommy calls this the five-second rule.

Anyway, Mommy says I’m eating too much junk and we can’t have pepperoni pizza for dinner every Sunday. I tell her we don’t. And remind her of the one time it got too late for delivery and she made me have brown-bread grilled cheese. Only she didn’t care.

“We need to expand your palate, Annie,” she says.

“Is that because of my thumb sucking? Because you know I don’t do that anymore.”

[Mom speaking] “No, Annie, this has nothing to do with thumb sucking. Expanding your palate means getting comfortable with how different foods tastes in your mouth.”

But I already have soooo many. Chicken fingers, grilled cheese. Super secret spaghetti, buttered noodles. . . Oh, and turkey meatloaf surprise. That’s five. And, if you count pepperoni pizza, that’s six.

“And that’s a good start,” says Mom. “But there’s so many amazing flavors out there to try. You just have to give yourself a chance to get used to them.”

“Your mom’s right,” adds Daddy. “Plus, we’re sick of spending all that money on buttered noodles when we take you out to dinner. If that’s all you’re going to eat, we should probably stop going out.”

But I love “Out” dinners,” I pout. “That’s when I do my best coloring. “

[Dad speaking] “Well, then you’re going to have to try some new foods.”

“Fine,” I say and cross my arms tight because I don’t like it when Mommy and Daddy add more rules to the family. There’s already too many.
