Tribute Video
We are doing a tribute video for *******************
The imagery that goes along with the VO is older found footage.
So traditional documentary style with a little more energy. (Not to much)
You can email me directly with questions. **********************
You can pick just a section or read the entire script below.

The VO's that come in first get laid down for the scratch track.
Sometimes can be an advantage if the client gets comfortable with their voice.

VOICEOVER (VO): ********************** is a key pioneer of the kind of computing we do today – interactive, connected, graphical, and personal. As a Navy radar operator in the Pacific, he had read *************** famous article “As We May Think.” Its ideas would help flesh out the vision that became his life’s work; to augment human intellect with techniques for the collective mining and organization of information.

***************************************** assembled a team at SRI which built many of core components of modern computing as part of his oNLine System, or NLS for short. In San Francisco in 1968 they showed off the results in what is now known as the “Mother of all Demos.”

VO: NLS emphasized speed and precision for editing and browsing and introduced inventions that supported this approach, including computer windows, keysets, and a little pointing device called the mouse.

VO: NLS was part of what************************************************** in which editing and browsing were facilitated with collapsible views, granular addressability, online document management, and hypertext links.

VO:*****demonstrated online collaboration including document sharing, messaging, and video conferencing.

Engelbart’s lab hosted the central Network Information Center for the ARPAnet and later the Internet
Engelbart’s researchers were also practitioners of a process he called “bootstrapping.” This means actually using the tools and processes you are developing yourself, and refining them based on your own experiences as a user. The idea is to start a virtuous circle, in which better techniques lead to even better methods for creating future techniques, and so on.

By the mid ‘70s, *************** started to lose funding and key personnel. Many of NLS’s technical ideas eventually got picked up by mainstream computing; the mouse, word processing, and eventually simple networked hypertext with the Web.
But the more sophisticated ways of navigating knowledge in NLS were forgotten.
Perhaps even more important, most of Engelbart’s ideas for improving how organizations function, and thus raising their collective IQ, got left behind.
He spent the rest of his career trying to promote that larger vision. With his daughter he co-founded the Bootstrap Institute, and mouse-maker Logitech donated facilities.
His “ABC” concept was about how to start a snowball effect of innovation, improving not just how an organization does its work but its capability to improve.
What can we learn from *********** unfinished revolution today?
