Project Main Details
This is a short film (2 mins) commissioned for the launch of a videogame as part of a competition.
This film has a neo-noir tone and I want the voiceover to match this aesthetic. Think Drive. - Keep it dark and brooding - moody - but with some attitude. This is NOT soft or wistful.
Equally though this isn't a comic book - so no gruff *batman* voices please. Liam is a real character, we're going for realism. Don't overdo the emphasis too much.
The script is a draft at the moment, we'll release the final version once we have found the right person.
Feel free to adlib around the script as appropriate to the character.
The world of this video is a bleak vision of a near-future London. Much like our own, but overun my security forces who protect the rich and powerful.
The hero, and person speaking the Voiceover is LIAM - Mid 20s.
Liam, is an outsider, someone who has been gradually beaten down, living a life hiding in the shadows, escaping, dodging these people who seem to control the cities, those who wish to mould him into something else. He's become adept at this, and excels at remaining undetected.
Liam's a rebel, not wanting to be controlled.
But up to this point, Liam has lived in fear.
At this point in the story, Liam recently discovered he has special ‘powers’., and he is recounting this...
Now he has the opportunity to get his own back, there’s a sense of reckless abandon. A subtle intensity to his personna.
This is his time now….

I knew I was different.
But I was afraid like everybody else.
They were everywhere. *Security* -- as if that's what it ever was.
We were like mice scurrying between the cracks of the streets, and I was pretty sick of hiding.
They knew I was different. But I was afraid.
Then....one day....I stopped running.
I was no longer afraid.
Then....they feared *me*.
