When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king.
Behold there came Wise Men from the east to Jerusalem.
Where is he who has been born the king of the Jews?
For we saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.

The Wise Men were among the highest ranking officials in Babylon. The Wise Men first appear in seven Century B.C. as a tribe. They became skilled in Astronomy and Astrology. They were especially noted for their ability combined knowledge of Science, Agriculture, Mathematics, and History. The Wise Men religious and political influence combined grew until they became the most prominent and powerful group of advisors in the Babylonian empire.

Luke 2:7
The Inn Keeper-Preoccupied and Ignorant
He was preoccupied. He paid no attention to this 14yr old expected mother.
Therefore She brought forth her first born, she wrapped the babe in swaddling clothes, She.
Mary was alone. The Inn keeper missed Christmas.

Matthews 2:3
Herod- he was troubled, he was Jealous and fearful
He killed his whole family. He thought he was King. He couldn’t imagine a baby taking his throne.
Herod missed Christmas

Matthews 2:4
Sanhedrin’s, Chief Priest, Scribes- Pride and Indifference
These people gave us the alphabets. They were writers.
They missed Christmas.

Luke 2:1-3
Romans- False Gods and Idolatry
Caesar Augustus sent out a decree.
He sent Christmas away to be tax in the town of Bethlehem.
Rome missed Christmas

Matthews 2:23
Could any good thing come out of Nazareth?
This is the town Jesus grew up in.
Jesus parents were looking for him and he replied.
“He was about his father business.” Jesus knew he is God at this time.
Luke 2:49. Jesus knew his own town received him not.
Mark 6:6 He marveled because of their unbelief and he went around the village teaching.
Nazareth missed Christmas.

Jeremiah 22:30
Ja co niah missed Christmas because he was cursed.
God said none of his sons will ever sit on the throne of Israel,

Missed Christmas because of their Religious and Ritual

The Jews valued their pedigree consequently if anybody was going to be presented to them as King, it was absolutely essential that he have the pedigree to prove it.

(Chronology) Shows the legal Jewish trace back to the father of Adam, Abraham, and David of Joseph adopting Jesus

Luke 3:23
(Credentials) Shows the natural Blue blood line of Mary, from Mary father Heli which is Jesus grandfather. Because the genealogy deals with males.

They all refused him except the others in Jerusalem

The Shepherds didn’t miss Christmas
They were the lowest of the low.
The shepherds embraced Jesus as King and praised him.
The Shepherds did not miss Christmas.

Luke 2:38
Anna the 84 yrs Old widow.
This is the moment she has been waiting for.
She gave thanks and told everyone about Jesus arrival.
Anna did not miss Christmas.

Luke 2:30
Simeon an old man.
Simeon said. My eyes have seen salvation.
Oh this is the moment Simeon had been waiting for.
Simeon did not miss Christmas

This is not a Circles K or Winn Dixie store church.
The name Emmanuel is a proud name to its congregation.
Meaning God is with us.
Ooooh no, Pastor Brown made sure that Wise Men was among his congregation.
First Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church did not miss Christmas.

Ladies and Gentlemen will you please stand for our Wise Men who did not miss Christmas.
