As you consider options for a Senior Class trip, The Wilds Christian Camp and Conference Center invites you to include our thousand-acre natural playground in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina as a destination. We realize that you have many choices. You may also have numerous inputs, from students to parents to chaperones to staff. as well as a great deal of input. Our hope is that you would prayerfully consider what God wants to do in the lives of your seniors, during this, one of the last weeks you will spend together as a class. We encourage you to think of this week as an investment – not just in a week of fun – but in the spiritual future of your seniors class. And if the Lord so leads, The Wilds would love to host you for a trip that your class will never forget!
From The Wilds Christian Camp and Conference Center, congratulations, seniors and seniors to be. You have made it to one of the most exciting times of your life—your senior year! Our prayer is that this is a great year for you; a time to soak up memories that you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
We also hope that you and your class will carve out a few days for a Senior Trip you’ll never forget, to our little thousand-acre natural playground in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Located in an area known as the “land of waterfalls”, Transylvania County (you heard it right) boasts over 200 waterfalls and among the most beautiful are the ones you will enjoy right here at The Wilds. Beautiful forests, powerful waterfalls, rushing rivers and streams—God’s creation comes alive here in a way that you’ll never forget!
And just in case you were wondering . . . no, your Senior Trip will not be at all like summer camp. There will be only you and 199 fellow seniors to enjoy the activities usually reserved for a thousand people. The 400-foot Land Trolley that runs across the valley? A ride you’ll never forget! There’s that wild, rushing Toxaway Creek, just perfect for a soaking good time tubing with your classmates! Oh, and watch out for the water cannons at the end of the ride! Brrrrr—you’ll never forget!
Paddling around the lake with friends whom you can only hope will keep the canoe afloat . . . Playing a round or two of miniature golf and being able to shut the mouth of the your professional, trash-talking classmate . . . Or playing Human Foosball and Gazee-ball and laughing so hard that nearly split a gut. All memories that you will never forget!
How about representing your school and schooling another team in sand volleyball or 3-man basketball tournament challenge to earn some fun bragging rights that you’ll never forget!
Or Screaming through the sky with a friend by your side on your own 85-foot Giant Swing, wondering if this is where your friendship and your senior year will end? Priceless, great fun and a bonding moment that we promise you’ll never forget!
You will also get a chance to pound your friends - in love, of course - on the brand new Wilds’, one-of-a-kind Paintball field? Think of it as the Hatfields versus McCoys in the North Carolina mountains . . . an afternoon that you’ll never forget!
And speaking of the North Carolina mountains, you’ll definitely never forget the midweek whitewater rafting trip through the famous Nantahala River Gorge. You and your closest classmates will get to pile into a river raft and tackle the rapids of the Nantahala, complete with an up-close and personal encounter with the Class V monster, Lesser Wessor! We promise, you’ll never forget Lesser Wessor! Promise!
To keep you fueled during all of this will be a daily parade of restaurant-class meals. This is not—we repeat—this is not, typical camp food! We’ll have picnics and surprise treats along with these great, sit-down meals. Imagine that, a camp with food you’ll never forget!
Whether it’s hanging out with your class and new senior friends at Cool Beans, the amazing, tasteful, friendly, full service coffee shop; roaring laughter with a tableful of friends at the newly decorated Snackshop famous for unique-in-the-world ice cream treats like the Giant Mudcard Mudslide and the Blob; or maybe even shopping in the General Store with its classy, mountain décor – you’ll never forget your wide-open Senior Trip to The Wilds.
And did we say, “plenty of time to hang out with friends?” Well, we did now, because how else will you make memories with friends to last a lifetime?
Even with all of these great things to do, the highlight for many seniors is the time alone with God and the straight-from-the-heart Biblical messages that touch all of the decisions you will have to make in the future. The chance to spend some quality time evaluating where God has brought you in life and how He wants to be the most important One in your future. Strengthening your relationship with God in a way that you will never forget!
Whether The Wilds is the single destination or one of your stopovers in your Senior Trip, we promise you will build mountains of memories right before you put on those dignified gowns and march onto the stage. Memories that will last a lifetime!
We hope to see you at The Wilds for a trip you will never forget!
