Project Main Details
The video will be used to raise awareness in the community, and it will be used to bring in much needed financial support.
We are looking for a voice that sounds like a young school age girl, somewhere between the ages of 6 and 12.
The read should be serious so as to reflect the subject matter, but it should also have a strong touch of sympathy and compassion for those it is trying to reach. 2010-05-04 14:20:56 GMT 2010-05-08 18:00:00 (GMT -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 0 0 4 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 0 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. Flashing across the screen:
“It’s my fault.”
“No one will believe me.”
“I’m a bad person.”
“He’ll kill me if I tell.”
“I don’t want my family to break up…I just want the abuse to STOP.”
The scars you can’t see are the ones that hurt children the most. Like an untreated wound, a child left to suffer in silence will never really heal from the loss of innocence, security, and safety that the experience of abuse steals from them.
Over 400 children are served by The ***********Children’s Advocacy Center each year. These children have often experienced the most traumatic thing that will happen to them in their lives. They come through our doors to see walls lined with picket fences, stuffed animals, books, and toys, and are greeted by a warm, comforting staff person. The healing has begun.
We want to break the cycle of abuse. We want to prevent generation after generation from facing the same devastating effects from abuse that is swept into the darkest corners of family secrets. The more we know about how and why abuse occurs, the more we also learn about how to stop it from happening at all.
Parenting is the hardest job in the world, and children do not come with instructions. The Family Services program of The ***********provides one-on-one, home-based support and education to parents in need of alternative methods of discipline, coping, and providing for their children. In cases where parents are working on a second chance, the Supervised Visitation program provides parents working to regain custody a family-friendly atmosphere to visit with their children.
The bravest thing a child suffering from abuse can to is to TELL.
The best thing that adults can do is to learn how to recognize and prevent child abuse so that more children can be rescued.
