Project Main Details

The Presidents
This is a Documentary-style DVD about the Presidents of the United States.
Each President will be included, and each will have 1-2 paragraphs (approx 60 seconds each) or Voiceover. The VO will be paired with photos/paintings.

The recording will need to be done at a studio in New York City, so please only submit if you can be available for a day in NYC and possibly a call-back, if needed.

The talent's voice should be distinguished and confident. You should be well-spoken and enunciate clearly. Think Presidential!

Custom auditions are not necessary, however they will be helpful to us, so if you can, please record some of the script. If you cannot, please pick a demo that is appropriate for the content.

Script Details

***custom demo required***
The eighth President was the first born an American citizen, not a British subject, and spoke Dutch as his first language. Van Buren lacked a formal education, but he studied law under several tutors and passed the bar exam in 1803.

Van Buren was an early champion of national political parties, including his own Jacksonian Democrats, which he viewed as a structure in which representatives from free states and slave states could come together and find common ground.

After serving as a senator and the governor of New York, Van Buren cultivated his relationship with Andrew Jackson, who would make Van Buren his minister to the Court of St. James and, eventually, his secretary of state. Jackson saw in Van Buren a confidante—and an opportunity to extend his legacy. After Van Buren’s contentious first vice president John Calhoun resigned, Van Buren took the spot, all but assuring his successive election to the presidency.
Please note that you should only use the script or your recording of it for auditioning purposes. The script is property, unless otherwise specified, of the voice seeker and it is protected by international copyright laws.
